Past Medical/Surgical History
Medications and Allergies
Family History
Social History
To develop a systematic approach for history taking for common Ophthalmic presentations

Tips & Tricks on running an effective session:
Keep it simple – most students have not had a lot of (if any) exposure to Ophthalmology so the idea is to give them a brief overview rather than a detailed discussion.
Case studies – ideally students should practice on patients with Ophthalmic issues/presentations, but they can be hard to find. The alternative is to use the cases provided or any other interesting cases you may have encountered in the past.
Be as interactive as possible – students should attempt to take a history from a patient or yourself (using the cases provided) and feedback should be provided.
