Introduction
Charting fluids for paediatrics patients is an important skill, which draws on fundamental concepts of fluid prescribing. This session will emphasise that IV fluid is a drug, with potentially adverse effects, particularly in children.

Session aims and objectives
Develop an approach to assessing Fluid status in Children
Understand the fundamentals of dosing fluids in children
Understand how to monitor children for fluid responsiveness and complications of excess fluid replacement
Apply fundamental knowledge to a series of worked examples of fluid replacement in specific illnesses
